Are You Just Teeing Off or Truly Living?

However, the golf course is the perfect place to discuss retirement and life goals and this is where we will meet and start planning. After all, this is where we want to spend our retirement right? Retirement is not just about the numbers in your bank account; it's about the life you yearn to live. Book a session with me and Melbourne's sandbelt will become the backdrop for a journey into what retirement means. This isn't about finances; it's about fulfilment, purpose, and squeezing every drop of joy from your retirement years.I am your Retirement Coach here to support you in rebooting your retirement.
The Shocking Truth: Retirement Unveiled
The Golfing Dream vs. Reality:
Dreaming of daily golf in retirement? Think again. Out of a 20-year retirement from 67 to 87 (age not your score), not every one of the 7,300 days will be spent playing golf. Shocking... I know!
Life's Unpredictable Course:
I have heard countless stories of people who want to play golf every day in retirement who have broken a wrist, ankle, tendonitis, an injury that stops them. If you don't have a diverse range of activities and social networks, retirement will be hard.
The 9-Hole Wake-Up Call
Join me at the course and we will play 9 holes of golf (Ambrose), where each swing and step on the course is a step towards understanding what you truly want from retirement. This isn't just golf; it's a masterclass in living fully. With every hole, you'll uncover the layers of your retirement dreams, fears, and untapped potential.
The cost of a round of golf is additional and varies by golf course. Clients are encouraged to select their preferred golf course, and we will facilitate the booking process. The cost of the golf round will be added to the counselling session fee.
Scheduling: Please book at least one week in advance to ensure availability both for the counselling session and golf course tee times.
Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept all major credit cards.
*Lukas also offers counselling sessions off the golf course; he can come to your location or meet at a mutually convenient place to ensure comfort and accessibility for all clients.

More Than Just Leisure:
Retirement is not just an extended holiday. It's a significant life change that brings its own set of challenges and opportunities. Adjusting to this new lifestyle means finding balance between relaxation and engagement, leisure and activity.
The Need for Planning:
To truly "squeeze the juice" out of your remaining years, careful planning is essential. It's not just about financial preparation; it's about considering how you will spend your time, who you will spend it with, and what goals you want to achieve.
The Hard Work Behind the Bliss:
Achieving a fulfilling retirement is an active process. It involves setting new goals, pursuing interests, and sometimes, stepping out of your comfort zone. The work you put into planning your retirement can be as demanding as it is rewarding.
Rethinking Retirement:
A Reality Check for Pre-Retirees
As you approach the threshold of retirement, it's easy to be captivated by the idyllic vision of endless holidays, world travels, and ticking off every item on your bucket list. The prospect of stepping away from the daily grind to embrace a life of leisure and fulfillment is undoubtedly appealing. However, the true picture of retirement might not be as straightforward as it seems.
The Myth of the Permanent Holiday
The common fantasy of retirement as a perpetual state of vacation overlooks the complexity of transitioning into this new phase of life. While it's true that retirement can offer the freedom to pursue long-held dreams, achieving a genuinely satisfying and enriching post-career life requires much more than just a wish list.

Rethink Your Screen Time in Retirement
Are you watching TV 9hrs a day?
On average, retirees spend 9 hours actively and 12-15 hours passively watching TV each day.
A lifetime on the couch
If you retire at 67 and live until 87, you'll spend 17.4% of your adult life in front of the television. That's equivalent to a full-time job, with overtime, dedicated solely to TV watching.
It's time for a change
The thought of spending our golden years glued to the screen is unsettling. Life offers so much more beyond the confines of our living rooms. It's crucial to find motivation and begin exploring the vibrant opportunities that await outside the realm of television.

Retirement Is A Scam If You Let It Be
This is your wake up call! It's time to seize control, to live not by default but by design.
Retirement is when you stop living at work and start working on living but if you do not focus and embrace discipline and structure, retirement is going to be hard.
